We both know that something's wrong
This isn't close to what we wanted
There's nothing here but a dead end road
There's nothing left but for me to turn
And walk away
Turn around and walk away.
There's nothing left to make me stay
It's up to me to stop this pain.
We never talk, we never smile
It's like I'm living with a stranger
Feels like the walls are closing in
There's no goodbye, time for me to turn
And walk away
Turn around and walk away.
There's nothing left to make me stay
I'm really tired of this game.
Don't need to know where it all went wrong
Tell you the truth, I don't even like you
The time has come, it all ends here
There's nothing left but for me to turn
And walk away
Turn around and walk away.
There's nothing left to make me stay
Time for me to end this pain.
Walk Away!
I learned a valuable lesson back in 1998. I learned that no matter how promising a relationship once seemed, no matter how much you want something to work, at some point you have to acknowledge that there is no possible way it can work, or be repaired.
Those are the times that the only proper action is to walk away. Leave it behind. Stop fighting a losing battle. Get out before you get hurt more.
This song is about that, and is another one that I really want to finish and record properly, removing most of that long long intro.
Part of the 2020 Remastering push.
From the CD "Feckless in the T-Zone"
Recorded in 1999
This song actually got Canada-wide airplay on a satellite station for several months in 2000.
